If you're a fan of the movies and like me, the kind of person who watches and enjoys the Extras on DVD you will probably enjoy this behind the scenes look at the making of these three films. Well organized, it goes into the creation of the films such as the story of how Johnny Depp actually came up with the writer's favorite line in the films. There are sections on the creation of the amazing sets used in the film, along with adventures on the location shoots. Oh, also, there are lots of behind the scenes pictures that haven't been seen all over the Internet, details of the actors and how they came to be cast and bring their characters to life. There's a section on the last day of filming that was fun to read.

My only complaint is that I wish it had been in hardback, but I suppose to keep the price down the publisher went with oversized paperback. But in any event, I certainly got $17 bucks worth of entertainment out of it!

This book is worth buying for the photos alone. As a matter of fact, that is why I bought it ... for Halloween costume ideas ... but I enjoy the information it contains about the making of the movie as well. It was a great find. I highly recommend it!
I saw this at Disneyland, but thought $[...] was a little steep -- thank you for bringing it in at $[...]! If you liked the "Pirates" movies, this offers some great background info on how they filmed these rollicking good time movies. You'll find behind the scenes photos, lots of glossy pictures of gorgeous sets, locations and people. Interviews with the actors, producer, director, and others involved in the crew....kind of like an extension of the bonus features on the DVD's. A little weak on info for the final movie "Worlds End" (I suspect the book came out either just before or just after it's release. ) But still lots of fun stuff. My 7 year old sons likes viewing it with me.
Item arrived in excellent condition. Virtually brand new looking. The content is helpful for the aspiring artist, appreciative reader, and for those who enjoy the story magic making process.
As the lead animal trainer on all three of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" movies, I found Michael Singer's account of our shared experience accurate, artistic, and exciting. So often, the perspective disseminated via the publicity machine shows an idealized view of the film making process. "Bring Me That Horizon" beautifully illuminates our journey - warts and all. I am especially appreciative of the special chapter on "Critical Critters"(pages 88 & 89). For a veteran of the "Pirates" wars, this book is like a photo album - slash - scrapbook I will cherish forever.
A lot of detail on the movie making. The first 3 movies of POTC are connected to make a complete story. Hope there can be similar book for POTC 4 and 5.
Disney's books about its PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN franchise have been uniformly good, but this is the one that fans of the movie (and ride) will want to put on the shelves. Printed in full color, oversized, and jam-packed with well-written text, the imaginative layout marries the professional photos with the engaging text by Michael Singer, with the result that this is truly an insider's guide to the making of these three movies. Though some of this material is covered on the supplementary discs to the first and second movie, it's good to have everything in printed form for easy reference.

Get it. Buy it. Enjoy it. Or walk the plank!

Having seen the third movie today, I can say that it's a rollercoaster ride, a stunning visual effect from start to finish, and a set-up for the fourth, inevitable film.

I will be reviewing this book and giving it my highest recommendation in my book, CARIBBEAN PIRATES, since I consider it indispensable.
